Welcome — you are now a Member

Northside Community Voices

Your membership is confirmed, and a welcome email is on its way. Thank you for taking the step — NCV only works because people are willing to.

What changes

You keep everything you already had. What membership adds is a say in how NCV is run, and in what it carries to government:

  • ✅ You can vote at general meetings, including the Annual General Meeting
  • ✅ You can stand for the Board
  • ✅ You can put matters to the Board and to other Members
  • ✅ You can rate the issues other people have raised. Rating is reserved to Members, because those ratings decide what NCV takes to government and in what order. Of everything on this list, this is the one most Members end up using.

You sign in the same way you always have.

One thing to know about notices. Notices of general meetings and ballots go to every Member because our rules require it. They are not a mailing list and there is nothing to opt out of. That is separate from the newsletter, event notices and group updates, which you chose when you joined and can stop at any time with a single link.

What we would love you to do next

Membership is worth more when it is used. Have a look at the Working Groups and join one that fits your time and interests, come along to an event, or simply tell us what you think needs fixing on the Northside. NCV exists to carry local voices to government — and it only works when those voices turn up.

About the Register of Members. As an incorporated association we are required to keep a Register of Members recording your full name, your address and the date you were admitted. It is open for inspection by other Members, arranged through the Secretary, and may not be used to send you advertising for political, religious, charitable or commercial purposes. If having your details on it would put you at risk of harm, you can ask the Board to withhold them — email [email protected] and we will treat it in confidence.
