Start by registering as a "Friend" of NCV
We get it! We really do, we all have busy family lives, careers and work/life balance juggling acts to manage.
NCV invites people to join in as much as they can safely manage. Just read our Newsletter or drop in for an occasional coffee and a chat with the other members busy with work and family commitments, but still hoping to get better performance from our elected representatives at all levels of government. To keep in touch like this the first step is to register as a Friend of NCV.
But if you see a problem or an opportunity that needs attention, these pages show you how to escalate your involvement and really make a positive difference and help achieve a lasting impact for your family, friends, neighbours and community.
Upgrade to full membership
Most adult residents of the City of Moreton Bay (CoMB) can take the next step and Join NCV as a full Member, which entitles you to participate in the planning and management of NCV activities and Working Groups, setting the priorities and strategic directions that NCV communicates to government and to vote at NCV meetings.
Because we want our voices to be the authentic wishes of our Northside community, under 16’s and people living outside CoMB can join as non-voting “Friends of NCV”.Â
NCV is a strictly non-partisan organisation, so to avoid any potential conflicts of interest or political bias, we only admit elected representatives as Friends (regardless of where they live). Active or recent members or employees of registered political organisations (parties or lobbyists) are permitted to become a Member, but are excluded from senior management roles within the association.
Our funding model
Membership is free, but NCV is funded primarily by the generous once-off or sustaining/recurrent donations from Members and Friends. We would appreciate it if you would use the donate link to chip in whatever you can afford, particularly if you can make it a regular contribution.
We hope to attract funding from corporate sponsors, philanthropic donors and grants programs. Our policy is to accept donations from any funding source that is aligned with our purpose and values, providing there are absolutely no “strings” attached.
Stay in touch through our Newsletter
We distribute a regular Newsletter to recipients on our mailing list. If you are too busy to become involved in-between elections or due to general life pressures, at least keep in touch through our Newsletter.
