Working Groups and Action Groups

Where the community's priorities turn into research, submissions and action.

Three kinds of group, doing three different jobs.

Working Groups are the top end of our listening process. The community tells us what matters; a Working Group takes one of those topics, researches it properly, and turns it into submissions and evidence we can put in front of government.

Action Groups do the organising. Some do a job for the whole association, such as communications. Others organise a particular part of the Northside. Both are ours, run by people appointed by our Board.

Allied Organisations are not ours at all. They are separate community organisations that work alongside us under a written agreement, using our infrastructure to reach more people. Their members are not our members, and they set their own direction.

Anyone can join a Working Group or Action Group. If you want more detail, read how Working Groups work.

Before you can join a group. Anyone is welcome in a Working Group or Action Group, but the groups live in a members-only part of the site, so you need an account first. Join Northside Community Voices — a few quick questions and we will point you to the right place, whether that is as a Member or as a Friend of NCV. Either takes a couple of minutes, and both give you the sign-in you need. Once you are in, choose a group above and the convenor will be told you would like to join.

Allied Organisations

Separate community organisations working alongside us under a written agreement.

Moreton Climate Action Now Allied organisation

Contact through [email protected]

A community organisation campaigning on climate action across the Moreton Bay region. They work with us under an agreement and use our platform to reach more people, but they are their own organisation and set their own direction.

Visit their space
What this means in practice. Joining an Allied Organisation's space is not joining Northside Community Voices, and it does not make you a member of ours. Equally, being one of our members does not make you a member of theirs. We share infrastructure and we talk to each other; we do not speak for one another.
