Individual issues only tell half the story
Individual issues only tell half the story. This page steps back and shows the pattern across all of them.
Here you’ll find the aggregate picture: what people are raising most, broken down by focus area, suburb, gender, age band. Nothing here shows an individual person or an individual response.
This is the evidence base behind our reporting to sitting members and election candidates. It’s built from counts, not opinions — which is exactly the point.
About the numbers below: the total, Gender and Age Band combine every listening channel — issues people raised freely and responses to our annual government surveys. Level of Government, Category and Topic apply only to freely-raised issues, since survey responses are already about one fixed topic each and one already-known level of government. Where someone’s gender or age band wasn’t recorded (common for open data collected before this was consistently captured), it’s shown as its own bar rather than left out, so the total always adds up.
